SEPTEMBER 2002

09/18/02 - Home, Home on the Range - Well, we finally entered into negotiations for purchasing our first home together!  After a year of searching, comparing, and scrutinizing, we finally decided our best option was to build a new home.  Rest assured we have considered numerous options and we have performed a large amount of research on the topic before settling on a specific location, builder, and home.

Antares Homes will be building our semi-custom, 2279 square foot, home slightly West of Fort Worth.  We will be living at 229 Memory Drive in the Settlement Village housing edition.

Settlement Village just opened up this new section, and we were the first couple to pick out a new lot.  As you can see from the above picture, there is not much there at the moment; however, the scenery should change dramatically as I post new pictures on our House page. 

We're both extremely excited and looking forward to selecting all of the individual options that you are allowed when building a custom home.

09/29/02 - Bricks - Not much is going on over at the the new home.  In fact, if I were to take another picture today, it would look identical to the one you see above on the previous diary entry.  However, Susan and I have been busy finalizing some of the features we want in our house.  This includes (and certainly is not limited to) placement of phone jacks, location of cabinets, type of fireplace, and brick color.  Since the last item is one of the few items I can display, I have posted a swatch of our brick color.

Sometime in the next few weeks we will be going to a design center in Dallas.  It is there we will be selecting things such as our carpet and tile colors. - Nathan
